Dallas County Promise

The Dallas County Promise supports students in navigating their best-fit postsecondary options with the ultimate goal for students to be successful in college, career, and life. Promise Scholars can be offered a last-dollar tuition grant to help reduce financial barriers present in accessing a postsecondary education at partner colleges and universities.

Collaboration is critical

The work of the Dallas County Promise is made possible by leaders of the 85 participating high school campuses across 13 Dallas County school systems and 9 higher education institutions. It is further enabled by these community partners:

Thanks to the Promise, I got my associate degree from [Dallas College’s Richland campus] in 2020 and my bachelor’s degree in 2022 from Midwestern State University Texas… The Dallas County Promise gave me an outlet to a future I didn’t know was possible.

Texas College Bridge

Texas College Bridge online college preparatory courses strengthen students’ English and math skills prior to enrolling in college, setting them up for postsecondary success.  Plus, when they graduate high school, students can earn a TSI exemption at more than 100 partnering colleges and universities across Texas.

Increasing student success

Texas College Bridge is a collaborative effort by two nonprofit organizations, The Commit Partnership and The NROC Project, the developer of the EdReady platform, along with other supporting partners, who are collectively driven by a mission to improve college readiness and postsecondary outcomes for academically at-risk students across Texas.

Texas College Bridge collaborates with school and districts to:

  • Provide teacher-facilitated courses that are personalized and self-paced
  • Help students earn a TSI exemption at more than 100 participating colleges
  • Provide college and career supports
  • Track student progress through data-rich dashboards
I was thrilled to see the passing rate of 76.5% for students in English and 89.1% for students in math. It is rewarding to see such high success rates in a population that is considered at-risk, academically speaking. It was nice to be part of a project that produced results to be proud of.
