Let’s ensure all of our students have access to the credentials they need to thrive.
To equip young people for the future and close unsustainable gaps in our regional economy, we must provide accessible pathways for Dallas County students to achieve the degrees and certificates they need to participate in the 21st century economy.
We measure critical indicators we know drive progress towards our true north goal.
The Dallas County Promise supports students in navigating their best-fit postsecondary options with the ultimate goal for students to be successful in college, career, and life. Promise Scholars can be offered a last-dollar tuition grant to help reduce financial barriers present in accessing a postsecondary education at partner colleges and universities.
The work of the Dallas County Promise is made possible by leaders of the 85 participating high school campuses across 13 Dallas County school systems and 9 higher education institutions. It is further enabled by these community partners:
Economic Mobility Systems provides innovative, student-centered data platforms to drive college and workforce outcomes.
Education is Freedom is a college access provider transforming lives through education across Dallas County.

Thanks to the Promise, I got my associate degree from [Dallas College’s Richland campus] in 2020 and my bachelor’s degree in 2022 from Midwestern State University Texas… The Dallas County Promise gave me an outlet to a future I didn’t know was possible.
Texas College Bridge online college preparatory courses strengthen students’ English and math skills prior to enrolling in college, setting them up for postsecondary success. Plus, when they graduate high school, students can earn a TSI exemption at more than 100 partnering colleges and universities across Texas.
Texas College Bridge is a collaborative effort by two nonprofit organizations, The Commit Partnership and The NROC Project, the developer of the EdReady platform, along with other supporting partners, who are collectively driven by a mission to improve college readiness and postsecondary outcomes for academically at-risk students across Texas.
I was thrilled to see the passing rate of 76.5% for students in English and 89.1% for students in math. It is rewarding to see such high success rates in a population that is considered at-risk, academically speaking. It was nice to be part of a project that produced results to be proud of.
