Today is North Texas Giving Day!

Imagine a North Texas where economic opportunity is no longer predicted by race, place, or socioeconomic status. What would it take? How long would it take to get there? Who can help?

At the Commit Partnership, we are working daily to do our part to make this vision a reality. But we know it will take the collective effort of our entire community. That’s why we’re thrilled to once again stand alongside more than 3,200 nonprofits and participate in North Texas Giving Day today, Thursday, September 23.

This year, we are guided by our new “True North” to raise funds toward our goal: By 2040, at least half of all 25- to 34-year-old residents, irrespective of race, will be provided the opportunity to earn a living wage.

Your contribution to this effort reaches beyond the efforts of our organization, alone. As a collective impact organization with more than 200 partners, we rely on strategic coalitions and data-driven analysis to inform a collaborative approach to action. Last year, we expanded our partnership effort to make a deeper investment in three place-based organizations:

  • Bachman Lake Together unites the Bachman Lake community to give children a strong foundation for the first five years in order to thrive in school and life.
  • United to Learn is mobilizing the community to close opportunity gaps in Dallas schools, accelerating student achievement, and developing purposeful leaders.
  • For Oak Cliff provides culturally responsive initiatives in South Oak Cliff to liberate the community from systemic oppression, to create a culture of education, and to increase social mobility and social capital.

This North Texas Giving Day, we urge you to stand not only with us but with these key community partners by spreading your gift across each of our organizations. You can give now between 6am and midnight.

Help us double living wage attainment in a single generation by giving to the Commit Partnership, Bachman Lake Together, United to Learn and For Oak Cliff. And when you do so, don’t forget to tag @Commit2Dallas and #NTxGivingDay online, and encourage your friends and colleagues to join us as we strive to create a brighter future for North Texas students.

In gratitude,

The Commit Partnership Team
