Measuring Success
Since 2011, we have held ourselves publicly accountable by measuring and reporting key educational and living wage indicators through our annual Dallas County Scorecard.
This focus expanded with our adoption of the aspirational goal of the Opportunity 2040 Plan: putting 150,000 additional Dallas County students on the path to true economic mobility by 2040. This plan emerged as Commit and the Child Poverty Action Lab (CPAL) recognized the need to accelerate our collective efforts and track additional indicators to ensure successful economic and educational outcomes.
The Scorecard evaluates the overall health of our region’s cradle-to-career pathways in order to align community action to address the greatest equity gaps in opportunity affecting student achievement. It represents a snapshot of our progress on the strategic roadmap of Opportunity 2040, utilizing disaggregated data to identify gaps in comparison to race and family income and share stories of our community’s success and continuous improvement.
